This is amazing
Talk about the promise of "Affordability" as a winning rejoinder to the Republicans nazi populism. There's certainly a metaphor in the 118% ridership increase.

The transfer of budget dollars from blue collar workers (bus drivers), who directly provide a service, to white collar professionals (transit safety czars), who narrate slide decks at council meetings, is a problem that needs to be reversed.
The council is set to raid the transit funding again tomorrow to pay for Rob Saka's transit safety czar proposal.

Thursday, November 13th drop: Katie Wilson now leads Bruce Harrell by 2,018 votes.

Neither condition for a mandatory recount is satisfied anymore. There won't be a recount. Also, Harrell conceded today. He knows he's done.

With basically all the ballots in the city of Seattle's mayoral election counted, Katie Wilson is now above 50 percent, with Mayor Bruce Harrell sliding to 49.6 percent. They're currently within the mandatory recount requirements, but machine recounts don't generally change things much.

With another 56,000 votes counted in the Seattle mayor's race, Katie Wilson has narrowed the gap with incumbent Bruce Harrell to just 4,300 votes, and received just under 55 percent of the vote in the latest count, with perhaps 50,000 votes remaining to be counted. That's a solid turnaround.
