It was great to talk today with UFCW Local 7 in CO who recently ended a 12-day strike involving 10,000 King Soopers workers. Kroger: it’s time to do what’s right. Negotiate a fair contract with your workers. Stop ripping off consumers with high prices at your grocery stores.

MSNBC worries about the perception that they’re not fair to R’s while Fox eats an $800m libel settlement to preserve its ability to lie about Ds.

That’s the asymmetry that gives illiberalism a structural advantage.

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

- a sympathetic ear/voice installed as DNI
- the release of a crime boss
- Hegseth ceding Crimea to them
- Trump offering a WH visit

they just lied

they lied, and they lied, and they lied, and they won because of it and now they're claiming they had a mandate to do all of the things they lied about not doing and many more besides

the press bears an enormous amount of responsibility for all of this
This Politico story from last October shows how easy it is to launder lies through the press. It claimed Trump would ban anyone tied to Project 2025 from a job in a second Trump administration.
“Clearly people working on Project 2025 are blacklisted,” said an unidentified Trump insider. 1/4🧵
Trump team preps list of banned staffers
The names include conservatives linked to Project 2025 and Republicans viewed as disloyal to the former president.

It's really disheartening that the tech media gets the urgency of the current moment and is reporting it like it is and our political media and big media institutions are just pretending like nothing is happening.

Many pro-recycling groups are calling plastic recycling in all of its forms a “false solution” that mainly serves to relieve consumer guilt, Karen Mockler writes.
Opinion: Time to end the lie of plastics recycling and get real about reducing their use
A 2016 behavioral economics study found that when consumers think their waste might be recycled, they worry less about the amount of trash they generate and produce more of it. Ideally, we’d do it …
