Turns out that immigration isn't Trump's issue armor after all, and maybe Democrats could drag him even further down by fighting against his outrageous and unconstitutional deportations rather than treating them as "a distraction."

And just to draw out the logic here: Trump's goal is to stoke an environment of such enormous fear that immigrants leave the U.S, to avoid the risk of being trapped in a hellish prison camp for life, and the threat that similar tactics will be deployed on U.S. citizens keeps the rest of us in line
This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

For the vast majority of above-ground public protests “don’t bring your phone” is actually bad security advice. You are much more likely to need your phone to call for help or document police aggression than you are to be arrested later cuz your phone pinged a cell tower near the raging grannies

Incredible. The Trump administration calculated "tariff rates" by taking the US trade deficit with the respective country and dividing it by the country's exports to the US. And then the tariff rate of the US is often just set by cutting that made-up "tariff rate" in half.
