the most important thing to remember when you see eugenicists who don’t believe that autistic people should exist rambling about “the autism epidemic” is not that they’re wrong about the “cause” (although they are absolutely wrong about it); it’s that they are eugenicists

truth!!!
I shouldn't be shocked, but I'm still always brought up short to realize how many people think "civility" means "white people speaking in relatively calm voices" no matter what vile shit they say.

You can recite facts at these people—that the homeless are a result of policy choices, that they are more likely to be the victims of crime than to commit it—but none of that can erase these guys’ real grievance against the homeless, which is that their suffering provokes a sense of guilt.

In case you understandably can't decipher the CDC's calming COVID wastewater map, yes, we are in another surge.

It will always be ridiculous how the CDC deliberately chose to color a map that's meant to represent how much COVID is spreading in calming shades of green and blue.

I spoke to USA Today about the Diddy trial and the myth of "mutual abuse," which normalizes men's violence through casting the protective strategies survivors use to stay alive as violations of the "perfect victim" stereotype.
Cassie's harrowing testimony, the myth of 'mutual abuse' and what domestic violence really looks like
Combs' lawyers say his relationship with Cassie was "mutually violent." Sexual violence experts say the myth of "mutual abuse" harms all survivors.

This might be a tight time for so many people, but please remember you’re not on your own. Get familiar with your local:

Community fridges
No buy groups
Community swaps
Food pantries
Community gardens
Mutual aid
Libraries (for more than just books)

We are all we got. But we got each other.

I will never stop being mad about how the media has treated the anti-trans movement as a group of ordinary people with legitimate concerns rather than the obvious frothing bigots they are.
ABC White House correspondent just released ANOTHER anti-trans EO expected that we did not cover in our piece this morning:

A federal ban on funding to programs that acknowledge and affirm transgender people.

Just a reminder that I never stopped wearing a mask. You can get them in cute colours. You can make them work for you and protect people.
At least in hospitals, healthcare settings, and aeroplanes/airports because people tend to go to those even if they're sick...#disability #maskup

They're crucial pieces of advice if Harris wins too. There are states/counties/cities where patriarchal authoritarianism is ascendant. There are and will be so many vulnerable people who will need our help no matter who wins the presidency
Both "live through it" and "if you are not in danger yourself, do what you can to ensure others live through it" are crucial pieces of advice if there is a second Trump term.
we have not lost. we are not fated to lose. if we lose, that is not the end of the fucking fight. stiffen your spine and set your jaw and be ready to live through it. we're gonna win. if we don't win, we're gonna have to get a whole lot fucking tougher and a whole lot better at linking arms together

Are these resources for autistic people in the room with us right now?

It's fucked up. It's the minimum you can do to learn to use language so you're not purveying ableism. It's the minimum to deconstruct your learned usages of language to be sanist. Our oppression as mad people is engrained into every fiber of society. Start small with your language for god's sake.
