I skeet about politics A LOT.
I’m a feminist who is obsessed w/the Humanities. All of them. I get kinda (non religiously) preachy sometimes. Apologies in advance.

Among Native Americans and First Nations peoples, the planting combination of corn, squash, and beans is known as "Three Sisters."

In Central America and Mexico, the practice is known as milpa, and it dates back thousands of years. 🧵⬇️

I’ve lived in 3 countries, have visited another 15 plus 40/50 states & this has always rung true. People are pretty much the same everywhere & in my experience, most are decent. They care about family, friends, & community. They want security & access to education & healthcare.

It’s all the same.
I've been to all 50 States, worked overseas for a decade, and married into an extended family in Southeast Asia.

None of my life experience supports this bile spewed by Miller.

People are basically the same everywhere, good and bad.

What a lonely, stunted man.

A running theme of Trump II is cautious, level-headed, mainstream, career professional experts sounding existential alarms about how we aren't panicking nearly enough.
I know you already know, but for other folks who don't, Goldsmith was previously head of OLC, is a genuinely brilliant mind on executive authority and separation of powers, and is usually very cautious about making claims this unqualified and direct. That he is saying it so starkly is v significant

Something nice (everything feels terrible right now but there’s still good out there)
I love this idea. My dad died when I was three and I had to figure out simple things like how to tie a tie and even shave on my own. Please retweet this because I know there are a lot of kids out there who could use some help with day to day life.

Vervet Monkeys not Blue. Grandpa owned a small contracting business in Tanga & I liked hanging out @ the warehouse. Vervet monkeys were common (I’d watch them from a window @ the house) & they often broke into the shop. Once when I was sitting on a table, 1 landed next to me & stole my sandwich.

Pete Hagueseth. We should make it a thing.

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Gift link in thread.
So the order for the US military to launch these deadly Caribbean boat strikes was straightforwardly illegal under US and international law, immoral under long established standards, and on top of that, terrible strategy.

Not maybe. Not got to check with a lawyer. Unambiguous. Blatant. Deliberate.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

Sometimes when I’m grocery shopping, I catch myself just staring at a price tag like what the hell am I supposed to do with this? It’s not a little high, it’s fiscally unmanageable.
“Your costs are up… tariffs are raising prices…”

2 yrs ago, I started regular therapy w/a culturally compatible therapist. We’ve been tackling generational trauma & protecting my peace. Family infighting following my grandma’s death has been hell & I’ve asked repeatedly to be left out of it but today would’ve been a situation w/out an exit.

Something that’s been really upsetting me as of late is that b/c of this admin, our healthcare system is taking yet another hit in representation.

For me, Long Covid was the 1st time I had to really navigate our healthcare system & I was gaslighted in place of being heard. 🧵

3 yrs ago our friends were married in the hill country. The couple & 15 guests stayed on to float the river. Expecting post wedding hangovers, I brought 4 loaves of bread & made a big batch of chutney/cream cheese, cucumber sandwiches.

Her name is Mama Dog b/c she was a pregnant stray they found under their deck. They decided to keep her & found all her puppies good homes.
