Sociopolitical malcontent. Chinese lit sometimes. 我的名字是一个问号。
Vance (and I guess the other people in the GOP's groupchat's) line on Eileen Gu makes no fucking sense on a surface level? Isn't this precisely the type of person you are saying should not count as American? I can't even figure out what his point is supposed to be.

It's just insane that the Tories have made this man leader again when Canadians are running out of ways to say that they do not like his greasy ass!!!
"Do you approve or disapprove of the performance of (X) to deal with US tariffs?"

Carney:
🟢 Approve: 57%
⚫️ Disapprove: 32%

Poilievre:
⚫️ Disapprove: 54%
🟢 Approve: 30%

Canadians Open to Freezing The Yanks
While Carney earns strong support on tariffs, Canadians express doubts about Poilievre and remain open to retaliatory measures

One of the things I’ve let go of in enjoying entertainment products is caring about box office returns or how many videogames got sold. I don’t own a media company! Not my problem! I’m a customer! If I get chicken nuggets I don’t ask the McDonalds manager how many units they’re moving! I eat them!

Dude Alyssa Liu is so cool and I love that American athletes keep showing that boiling yourself in a pressure cooker if your own imagination actually isn’t the best way to be great at something. We really are making progress as a people, even though the worst of us are determined to reverse it.

Not really into figure skating but it's hard to argue with Alysa Liu FUCKING 'EM UP to Donna Summer's version of "MacArthur Park."

Hold up, "government" is a plural noun in the UK?
Something the Government want you to forget...

Thinking about the crew of weirdo propagandists in the media who think this sentiment seems normal to normal people!
BREAKING:

Trump on Prince Andrew's arrest: "I think it's a shame. I think it's very sad. I think it's so bad for the royal family. It's very, very sad. To me, it's a very sad thing."

Taught a class on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion today, and every one of my students said they've seen content on TikTok that comes directly from it, without knowing before today what the source was.

It is years overdue for Democrats to stop thinking “aha! Gotcha!” legislation is going to have any effect against a party literally defined by the pride it takes in having no shame whatsoever.
Dems introduced amendments to ban all cosmetic surgery for minors in every state that banned gender affirming care for youth. In every single one, Republicans voted it down and no one cared. This line of thinking won't actually do anything.

Watched Lou Ye's An Unfinished Film tonight. Pretty good. Goes in the rare category of good representations of COVID along with Wu Hao's 76 Days and, surprisingly, the end of Drive My Car

It's so annoying when 27 year olds on Love Is Blind are like "I don't know about kids," like, yeah dude, you're 27 lol

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.
BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.

This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

The Brutalist...the whole movie is irritating and then I don't think I've ever hated an ending more
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

this & other comments i've seen about how bluesky needs to "improve its algorithm" suggest a lot of people have grown to like a totally passive social media experience where a computer pushes an endless stream of content tailored to what it thinks they would like while they clap like seals

Sorry but I do not believe there is anybody in America who is sincerely concerned about the health of fat people as opposed to just being prejudiced against fat people.

It's so funny that Zohran's message rn is "either taxes or austerity" and the NY Post is basically just echoing it, gee, wondet why these clowns lost the election

Trying to get into the heads of ICE agents is really a dead end, btw. People asked the same questions of the HKPF and it is just like, they get together with their fellow c-student bullies and joke about beating up cockroaches. That's all some people are.

Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate🧧

The last Year of the Fire Horse began in '66 & saw anti-war protests & civil rights struggle. It was the year Rev. Jackson left seminary to join Dr. King’s Freedom Movement.

May 2026 bring New York the same bold change people deserve.

Saying "um, ah, well..." for thirty seconds and then changing the subject has been the literal policy of the united states as regards the defense of Taiwan for decades. The whole point is to avoid giving a straight answer. If you want to critique on FP at least read a Wikipedia first.

Yeah, so about your claim that The Argument wouldn't be running anti-trans pieces @jerusalem.bsky.social... I knew it.

This is also an absurd way to present this data which reflects what I think is the basic position of the electorate: mostly they haven't thought about or don't care about this stuff.
Lakshya Jain and the Argument fled this website because they couldn't take the criticism and now he's advocating for Dems to abandon trans issues with polling about 'gender surgery for minors' a thing that is not real
