Growing up as Cold War American kids in the '80s, what we learned was that countries who put up giant pictures of their leaders were either run by Communists or religious fanatics. The news would show us their parades with the subtext that such egomaniacal spectacle was as un-American as it gets.
The irony/idiocy of this banner currently draped on the Department of Labor building is not lost on me, given all the federal workers he's forced out of their jobs.

Way too little, way too late.
Today the @nytimes.com sought to whitewash its central role in laundering anti-trans falsehoods and turbocharging anti-trans attacks nationwide. My reporting showed that editorial leadership was aware of this depravity which is why this disingenuous piece can’t erase the scale of what they’ve done.

As I say all the time, protecting women’s sports means getting abusers out of the sport, not shutting out trans athletes.
"There are roughly 510,000 NCAA athletes. And, according to the president of the NCAA, there are fewer than 10 trans athletes *total*. Even if all of these efforts to 'protect' women’s sports were in good faith, this would still be a solution in search of a problem."

I continue to hold the position that it was never about sports, and that capitulation on sports only makes it more likely that we get further restrictions.
