A fun fact about me is I was the wardrobe stylist for Jack White for six years. I designed these suits and sewed the buttons on by hand (with two assistants.)

Useful thread from Courtney Milan about the pirated-books lawsuit against Anthropic, and about who can be part of it, and more.
Hey, I have had some questions about who is allowed to file.

Here is the class certification:

Read this, coupled with the New York Times article "Google Plans to Roll Out Its A.I. Chatbot for Children Under 13."
“The whole thing feels like Black Mirror.”

“He would listen to the bot over me.”

“It gave my husband the title of ‘spark bearer’ because he brought it to life.”

Relationships are being destroyed thanks to spiritual mania, supernatural delusions, and arcane prophecy — all fueled by AI chatbots:

In my Short Story Writing class (300 level), I had my students read "A Temporary Matter" by Jhumpa Lahiri. Before we discussed it, I asked them to get in groups and write an AITA (Am I the Asshole?) style post that summarized the story. They had a blast and the posts were spot on.

Last week, a man died in a plane crash while transporting rescue dogs. I was deeply saddened, because we're mourned for the life we lived and the choices we made. Think of the word "wake." What will be left in your wake? A glimmer of humanity? Or record-breaking profits?

(Does this already exist? If no, why not? If yes, disregard everything to this point.)

Started NAPOLEON last night and had to turn it off due to the horrible pacing. Couldn't get through ELVIS for the same reason. 60 second scenes that feel like watching the trailer instead of the film? No thanks. It doesn't have to be Tarkovsky slow, but give the actors time to work up to the crying.
