Great data presented in this study of >23k patients with AF from 2007-2021 regarding AAD use after ablation (46% after 1st), redos after index ablation (16%), RR of repeat ablation with various risk fx's (lsps AF vs pAF 2.26, AAD use 1.42, etc). Worth a read for #EPeeps

🫀 A new study validates the SPICT (Supportive and Palliative Care Indicator Tool), which identifies hospitalized HF pts at high mortality risk.

Key Findings:
✔ SPICT-JP +: >3x ⬆️ mort risk
✔ Aids in advance-care planning for EoL decisions.

Electrical isolation of the left atrial appendage in East Asian patients with atrial fibrillation
The left atrial appendage (LAA) is a source of non–pulmonary vein triggers in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Electrical isolation of the LAA (EILAA) improves rhythm outcome with an inherent risk of embolism unless lifelong anticoagulation is continued. However, evidence of the efficacy and safety of EILAA in the East Asian population remains lacking.
