Not long after the 1st angioplasties were done, I made a film w/Simon Stertzer introducing PTCA. Sponsored by USCI (anyone remember them?) it was shown at the 1980 ACC meeting. Their booth was mobbed. Here's a clip, showing what eqpt was like then.😮🎈#AngioHistory

61 yrs ago today, radiologist Charles Dotter 1st opened a blocked femoral artery with a catheter. He called it "Angioplasty." Rejected by U.S. surgeons, the concept was embraced in Europe & resulted in Gruentzig's balloon which revolutionized the treatment of coronary artery disease. bit.ly/4fXdR3Z

Really interesting discussion from Mort Kern et al about whether family members should watch a PCI. Especially during a live case presentation. When we did some of the 1st live case broadcasts in the 80s, family members did not. #AngioHistory

I see a certain "controversial" oncologist is now on @bsky.app. Maybe he ran out of people to block on Xwitter, so he's looking for new venues. I have the honor of being #BlockedByVinay twice(!) on Xwitter. I also created this hashtag 7 years ago. I assume I soon will be blocked here. Can't wait.

I found this helpful. I use Firefox (Yes, I'm retro, but I know a couple people who helped write the original version, so I'm prejudiced 😄). Anyway here's a guide to all browser extensions that helps you find your #CardioTwitter audience on #CardioSky. www.zdnet.com/article/how-...
How to migrate from X to Bluesky without losing your followers
This extension lets you easily migrate your follows and block list from X (formerly Twitter) to Bluesky, but you need to act fast because its functionality may be short-lived. Here's why.

RIP Paul Caponigro. I was privileged to have him as a teacher at NYU Film where he shared his aesthetic vision & his technical skills (he taught us the Zone System). He was a lovely and gentle man. Check out his Stonehenge photos. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/25/a...
