Gatekeeping is probably the worst thing an artist can do (except using AI).
Show your process because griding & reference stuff is ok. Show your studio space.
Show your WIP that looks terrible because everyone's does and people need to understand that.

Some really simple ways you can give back: Not gatekeeping is a big one. Share your process and tools when asked.
