Don’t forget he sold drugs to and created the crack epidemic in the Black community!
Ronald Reagan was a horrible president who demonized marginalized communities, gutted the welfare state, enriched cronies, and committed a laundry list of impeachable crimes. I long for a Democratic Party that rightly understands that a comparison to him should be an insult.
Elissa Slotkin in her “Democratic” response is glorifying … checks notes … Ronald ****ing Reagan.

As we’ve been saying, they don’t care about the debt and never did. They want their tax cuts for the rich. (Again)

This is extraordinarily dangerous. Tomorrow, the legacy media will ask Republican officials about this. Those officials will lie and obfuscate. And the legacy media will move on.

That is part of the crisis we face.

The federal workforce is the backbone of this country & have been unfairly maligned. They make sure food is safe, protect our health & environment, care for vets, the old, the sick & the young & keep us safe. They do it bc they love this country & not for the $$$. We FO & now we’re FO.
Reddit has scores of comment from federal workers grappling with the chaos of the last few weeks. So many of these people are earnest, hardworking, and just want to do good work to help others.

r/fednews and r/usajobs are the subreddits I've been reading.
This comment on r/fednews really stood out to me. Trump and Musk want people to think they're firing do-nothing "bureaucrats," but they're really getting rid of people dedicated to serving this country and keeping it operational. I hope these stories get told.

Are you prepared for the next pandemic? Measles + TB + H5N1 + severe flu…….
As the Trump administration is firing thousands of NIH workers — including 10% of the CDC team, the measles outbreak in Gaines County, Texas has suddenly doubled to at least 48 cases. The outbreak has grown from 24 to 48 cases within the last three days.

A Trump-Musk memo telling US government employees to hide what’s happening from the public is a sign that:

1) Public legitimacy is a constraint for them, they know it, and will at times alter their behavior accordingly

2) Reporters should focus on it, revealing more of what they’re trying to hide
Awful: Internal USAID memo instructs employees to refrain from talking to the media about cuts in assistance to the most vulnerable or they may get fired, WaPo reports.

Trumpworld knows this is a big political problem for them. Keep the focus on it.

Trump-Musk Scandal at USAID Takes Unnerving Turn With Vile Leaked Memo
Can Trump and his top advisers really just act with total impunity? Or is there, just maybe, a price to be paid for starving poor people and un-indicting a corrupt mayor?

I wrote about Kendrick Lamar Superbowl performance-- its subversive messaging about America being a rigged, deadly game of survival-- especially for Black people.

But we need to stop pretending revolution is going to come from celebrities. It'll come from us.

Don’t fall for the okie doke. We should all be outraged at the destruction of our democracy, violation of our privacy, theft of our personal & financial data, destruction of our healthcare system, taking from the poor & middle class and giving to the rich is a crisis. Don’t let them tell u it’s not
