Critters have been thinking about cows for longer than recorded history. It's good to do this
I recently learned that the earliest known depiction of a wheel is this artifact, which depicts an ox with wheels for legs. Cow goes VROOM

This.
All the people in the replies bashing Harbor Freight simply don't understand Harbor Freight's place in the DIYer moral universe. How it works: you earn your right to purchase a DeWalt or Milwaukee only after wearing out or revealing the deficiencies of a Harbor Freight tool
I am in a very dangerous place (for my wallet) at the moment

It’s like Arby’s, but good.
This is so delightful.
I had the BEST time with the Curiosity Desk team at GBH scouring the North Shore for its greatest roast beef sandwiches. I hope I did the true beefers proud!!! 🫡

They actually do hate our freedom.
What The Hell Is Going On, a thread:

I’ve seen some thinkpieces and posts about Portland protests that fail to understand the long-term hyperspecificity of Portland culture/humor, and frame it as a sort of shitposting meme-pilled ironic thing. Which is wrong.

So I’m gonna give you my breakdown.

Lowering the flags on 9/11 at the Guantanamo Bay McDonald's for Charlie Kirk is the most dril tweet thing that's ever happened
The flags were lowered last night around the base by order of President Trump after the killing of Charlie Kirk and will stay at half-staff on this U.S. outpost in southeast Cuba until sunset on Sunday.

I had been told they would indict a ham sandwich.
BREAKING: Federal prosecutors said today they went to a grand jury twice to indict a D.C. woman for assaulting an FBI agent during an arrest by ICE — and were twice rejected.

Notably, she faces the same charge as the District's alleged sandwich thrower.

Delivered pizzas in Boston.
it was basically trial and error. If you wanted to go somewhere you had to try a road and drive until it went somewhere and if that wasn't where you wanted to go, you had to go back and choose a different road. This was known as Manifest Destination but it rarely worked the first time.

Lotta folks gonna hear “journalism makes incredible comeback” or “big win for journalism” and end up really disappointed when they find out the details.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Since no one asked…

I think the committee has always been hypocritical hacks. And they say whatever they want and will do whatever they want. But their words over the years have consistently been "best, not most deserving". What that might really mean may well be "best television ratings". (1/2)
