Since ICE invaded Raleigh, NC, walkouts and protests have broken out, and more than 600 volunteers have signed up to help keep residents safe in the city.

For @truthout.org yesterday I wrote about how the government's lies about tylenol and autism reminds me a lot of the government's lies about trans people.

Anti-Trans Policy Deserves Same Scrutiny as Trump’s Tylenol Disinformation
As a trans journalist, I see corporate media outlets as inconsistent in their treatment of right-wing disinformation.

We can dunk on Silver. But the folks wildly hyping Adams in 2021-22 included Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. The desire for a prominent BLACK politician who was pro-police and hostile to the BLM movement was broadly shared within elite Dem circles. They ignored obvious signs he was corrupt and inept.

According to Oregon, Trump got the idea that Portland is on fire because Fox News illustrated a September 5 story on protests of ICE with video from the George Floyd riots in 2020.

ok so the times witnessed reporters receiving cash from Adams people three times at mayoral events and sat on it for over a month but couldn’t pass up a hot tip from a neonazi about Mamdani’s unsuccessful college application for long enough to check if the neonazi had already been identified

There is no coalition. There never was a coalition. It's always been liberals demanding we get behind people who want to *only* kill *some* of us then screaming when we say "how bout you kill *none* of us?"

There is no coalition building with fascism in order to defeat fascism.
So many people on the far left are not willing to do even basic coalitional politics (like not backstabbing someone fighting your enemy) to fight fascism.

As DC was taken over by Trump’s secret police, where were congressional Democrats? They weren’t in DC and some weren’t even in the US.

Instead of fighting back against the authoritarian takeover here at home, 22 House “Democrats” were being spoon-fed lies about Gaza on a trip paid for by AIPAC.

My paltry liberal arts education at least allows me to know fascist code when I see it.

man i wonder how eugenicist and white supremacist Jordan Lasker (aka Cremieux) managed to get his story into the New York Times. i'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Benjamin Ryan, who is bylined on that story, is a reader of his work? such an interesting coincidence!

Government worker here. If anybody believes that oppression and privilege can be cataloged with a fucking drop-down menu in some random application boy do I have news for you.
If you happen on a story that is “white supremacist tries to smear nonwhite person for accurately describing his background in order to block his mayoral chances,” it’s certainly a choice to a) publish at all b) adopt that person’s narrative
This story should not have been published. They hint at an accusation (Mamdani said he is black to get into a fancy college) they can't back up. That this was published tells me that Mamdani's most important opponent may not be Cuomo or Adams but a paper whose NEWS section will run stuff like this.

I spoke to lead organizer, @stopgenai.com about the movement.

Ernesto Manuel-Andres was ordered released on a $1500 bond but DHS appealed so he's still in a federal jail in Louisiana. Still not one word that I've seen from @govandybeshear.bsky.social regarding his constituent. Nor have I seen a single #Louisville news outlet besides @lpm.org report on him.
Update on Ernesto, an 18-year-old in Bowling Green, KY who was taken by ICE: “The Department of Homeland Security has blocked the release of Ernesto Manuel-Andres, despite a federal immigration judge ordering that he be released on bond, according to the nonprofit working with him.”

The fundamental problem with Democrats/liberals. "We've got to slow" - sound familiar?
I am glad that I wrote this article. McBride did real damage with her interview, as should be clear by people who are allies and even some trans people arguing for sports bans.

I can promise you that capitulating won’t slow down the extreme stripping of rights.

If anything it’ll speed it up.
1. On Tuesday, Congresswoman Sarah McBride gave a interview with Ezra Klein at the New York Times.

It has been used to seed the ground for a rightward shift in the Democratic Party on trans rights.

Some allies have failed to grasp the problems with her approach.

Here's what McBride gets wrong.

Anybody know any immigration lawyers in Dallas? My partner and I are taking her mother home to Okinawa for a visit, and we'll be flying back in through Dallas. She has an American passport, but fuck-all that means these days. We need a lawyer on speed dial - any advice appreciated.

Ok, if the Dodgers are gonna behave like this, I'll be less mad at them when they inevitably steal Tarik Skubal from the Tigers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers said they denied federal immigration officials access to the area around the team’s stadium on Thursday morning.

The news comes hours after The Athletic reported the team’s plans to announce assistance to immigrants impacted by recent militarized raids.

At no point in this entire article of 16 paragraphs does ABC mention that another cop killed this cop by shooting her in the back. Nor does it mention the name of the cop who killed this cop. Nor does it mention that the civilians involved never fired at them.

ABC might as well be state media.
