New Yorkers kept telling me the same thing: they’re thinking of leaving because they can’t afford to raise their kids here. Universal childcare isn’t just a promise — it’s how we make this a city for everyone.

Today there was a planned federal operation in lower Manhattan.

We’re closely monitoring the situation, and we will keep working with our partners in government to ensure that New Yorkers know their rights, including those arrested today.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study explains it:

a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.
New: Boris Johnson’s ‘Brexit Titanic success’ was half right
Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer

This is a sobering read that starts from a straightforward premise: look at how the poverty threshold is calculated in the US and see how well it holds up as an actual measure.

I expected it to be bad. It’s much worse, in ways it’s hard not to see.

The pentagon papers were leaked changing history. I don’t get why the Epstein files are so protected. Seems like there would be someone out there that would leak them.

Something about the shooting yesterday doesn't feel right.

It feels too convenient. A vetted Afgan national that was granted asylum, randomly shoots a National Guardsman near the WH for no reason right when the NG was set to leave DC because there was no violence.

Now the NG is not leaving DC.
Trump vows to 'permanently pause' migration from 'third world countries' after National Guard shooting
The president called for "reverse migration" in a lengthy social media post late on Thanksgiving and said that he wanted to deport anyone "non-compatible with Western Civilization."

but they couldn’t build a political system to could resist a small cabal of billionaires who purchased and shaped an entire political party, and used their money to select Congressmembers, judges, and staffers who want to destroy America.

If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

I'll drink to that.
"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."
Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

Trump is always projecting. His rant about how members of Congress are treasonous for reminding the military not to follow illegal orders is really a way to divert attention from his treasonous policies toward Russia. It is all unravelling on Piggy Donnie. The tide is finally turning. Oink, oink!
At some point in the future, Witkoff should be prosecuted for this.
