Watching a friends kid masking the opposite direction to "turn up the autism" so other people would believe him was frankly awful to see and did not help my view of society at large.
It sucks so much. It makes you feel like your cheating the system to get benefits you are 100% entitled to
the fact that disability also doesn't cleanly fit into an accommodation "bucket" is why people over-perform their disability

Having to identify oneself as disabled to access accommodations is, on its own, a huge barrier to getting many disabled people the accommodations they need.

i was 14.
I was 28 when he came down that escalator, and if we're lucky we'll have fixed most of the damage by the time I'm in my early 40s. Just the prime of my life spent having to deal with his bullshit.
