I think a comparable case would be if after giving Ukraine a significant new tranche of equipment, Zelensky decided that Ukraine should go off and start launching ATACMS at Belarus while also declaring that Kursk was now legally part of Ukraine.

I think it's blisteringly obvious that the Israeli government will use the blanket of American deterrence to endlessly escalate various conflicts in their periphery while stoking violence in the West Bank with increased settlers, and symbolic gestures by the USG aren't going to change that.
