We have the Jazz game on mute for a minute so the subtitles are on. They picked up *every word* Will Hardy was saying there. 😳 😂 #TakeNote

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Banning prayer. They actually banned prayer at Broadview. I wonder what the Bible and/or Book of Mormon say about that? And yes, this is clearly a violation of the detainees’ civil liberties under the First Amendment.
Even standing alone, ICE's announcement that it would not allow prayer at its Broadview facility would be the biggest imposition on religious liberty by the federal government in my lifetime. But combine that with the rest of its actions and it's inescapable: Trump opposes religious liberty. 1/

Hundreds of thousands of people, dead because of a decision made by the world's richest man
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Louisiana — the red state that Mike Johnson nominally represents — has the second highest percentage of residents enrolled in SNAP in the nation.

They’re pushing this fantasy about these being “Democrat programs” used only in blue states but that’s a PR fantasy divorced from reality.
Mike Johnson: "These blue states have abused the SNAP program just like they've abused Medicaid and so many other government programs."

It’s utterly embarrassing that Deseret Book pulled this book from their shelves. And absolute tip of the hat to @shannonhale.bsky.social for both writing books that help kids develop empathy, and for her firm but civil response to this.
This has been a really rough few days. I recently learned of a controversy around our book THE PRINCESS IN BLACK AND THE PRINCE IN PINK. Some were outraged that Deseret Book carried it (a chain of bookstores in the west). Deseret Book appears to have complied to their demands and removed it. 1/

This is absolutely reprehensible.
I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.
