A thread on how AI is causing chaos for people trying to get a French residence permit (Byzantine, when I got one in 1991 & we were in EU). AI tells them to submit rubbish, application is refused, if lucky & not told to leave, back to AI, repeat. Orgs that could help defunded so gov can get AI.

2. Toutes les associations de France voient leur budget s'effondrer

The most annoying thing about Long Covid is when you feel pretty OK and there are loads of things you really want to get on and do, but you can’t because doing them now will probably make you too unwell to do anything tomorrow.

Excited to receive my Christmas cards from @loreandordure.com. I didn’t get round to sending cards last year (long-Covid fatigue, too much to do) but this year I have an incentive!

The debate around care visas in the political space boils down to people saying stuff like this - we desperately need people.
It's a good soundbite but...
A significant surge in care visas were issued since 2020 in response to sector demand and yet the problem of shortage has persisted.
Why?

I like my #WilliamMorris notebook but am persistently troubled by the floorplan implied in the logo (on every page). What does William keep at home in the tiny windowless room without a door? Is the large space without an entrance useful / beautiful? This distracts me a lot in meetings.

My son is on blockers legally from before the ban and we did everything they told us to do and now we are being threatened with social services if we don't allow them to "safely withdraw" medication. They admit that the impact will be "stark" for our kids but they are going to do it anyway.

If ICB Sussex get their own way in a matter of weeks and they force detransition, Olive may well take her life."
