Former garage punk rabble rouser. Likely I'll mainly be posting about music dating from whenever to right now, with the odd film & book thrown in now & then.

Boozed up and luxuriating in this mostly & unjustly lost tune. The language of post punk turned lascivious. Full to the brim with lust, sweat, love and desire. youtu.be/JSEdvoKtBm8?...

Listening to some Banshees records and 'The Last Beat Of My Heart' is a) still an absolutely gorgeous song but b) 'In the sharp gust of love...' is a Viz worthy opening line. Fair play to Siouxsie for beautifully delivering that stinker.

Catching up on the news and, alongside the obvious lunacy & horror, again stuck by how many people with far too much money dress like absolute crap these days. Bad enough everything going down the bog, but a rich moron who can't even sort out a suit which fits flushing it is downright insulting.

Looking at various hot takes on here from over the last few grim days, it appears that lots of people watched Game of Thrones and only noticed the nudity, swearing, scrapping and massive dragons.

This is it what it's all about when you're lost in music, innit. When you hear THAT something for the first time that you suspect - or maybe know - is going to stick forever. For me, in a similar genre ballpark, it's Ellie Greenwich - You Don't Know, in a kitchen on a cheap CD. All paused. Smitten.
As promised y/day the very first offshore recording I ever acquired. At 18m is my favourite record of all time, Marilyn Powell's As Long As You Come Back To Me. The first time I ever heard it was on this tape. It rooted me to the spot. Time stood still.

The slightly obscure title comes from a now distant time of speaking clocks, and when my mother would answer the phone by saying “Bramley 2464”.

Feet up listening to Barry Adamson's soundtrack to an obscure 90s neo-noir that I have yet to see. Good record though. Sticks lots of western style acoustic & surf guitars in with his trademark sinister vibes.
