The fact that this horrible behavior came from a nurse just demonstrates why us chronically ill folks also have a hard time getting safe and effective healthcare treatment.

Just the sheer amount of bullshit we have to deal with.
Got into a fight with a NURSE who we asked to give us a little distance when we were at a picnic table eating. We told her we’re were trying to be Covid safe because I’m at risk. She said I should have just stayed home. I said at risk people should be socially isolated and lonely AND SHE SAID YES

So the UK now has a "Labour" government that is simultaneously supporting a genocide in Palestine, bombing Yemen, imprisoning climate protestors, and imposing austerity on their own citizens. Got it 👍

Please don’t tell someone clinically vulnerable to get on with your life. It’s ableist and upsetting when many of us are struggling to find protection from vaccines and antivirals. Our government doesn’t care about vulnerable people. Not vaccinating me means I’m much more likely to end up 🧵

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work.

The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty.

I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the government to rethink its cruel, shameful & completely irresponsible plan to cut benefits which will plunge 250,000 people, including 50,000 children into poverty - on its own impact analysis

We are in the midst of what many consider the most promising pancreatic cancer cure research in decades. This is literally joining the War on Cancer on the side of cancer. It's happening in multiple departments. They're also attacking mRNA fax science which is the heart of the possible breakthrough.
They just cut $20M of pancreatic cancer research from DoD. Who the hell could be thinking they won’t be targeted?

For years, folks looked the other way as millions died or became disabled by Covid. They shouted “your health is not my responsibility” or “only the vulnerable” were at risk.

This callous disregard for human life has desensitized us. It helped pave the way for the current atrocities.

Hi @jonathandaviesmp.bsky.social I’m one of your constituents & I’d really like you to watch this please. Like Darren, I’m stuck with Long Covid & would like to be able to discuss the challenges we’re facing at a surgery if that’s possible? You’re also welcome to attend our Derby LC patient group.
Darren is one of about 2 million people living with #LongCovid in England and Scotland, he is too ill too work and talks about losing his job, and the lack of investment into research for treatments to help people back to work.

As the father of a daughter with Long Covid I plead that we change direction and offer vaccination to all who wish to have it - including children.
Let’s vaccinate against COVID. It reduces the risk of long COVID. This should be a no-brainer.
Vaccination significantly reduced #LongCovid in children and adolescents among ~300,000 kids and teens

Last year, my health insurance company stopped paying for my Humira. Humira is a type of immunosuppressive drug called a biologic, and I take a pretty high dose of it to control my severe Crohn's Disease. Without it, I will have a bowel obstruction, and then I will die.
