The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System is getting attention bc RFK Jr. & his antivaxx goons plan to use VAERS to claim COVID vaccines killed children.

This is an actual VAERS report for a reported death after COVID vaccine. This is what these people count as data showing “death after vaccine:”

Horrific to hear that Charlie Kirk was shot today in Utah. Political violence must be always and totally rejected. Praying for him and all who may have been injured or impacted.

It’s not simply important to denounce political violence because it looks bad not to. It’s the right thing to do on the merits. Even more specifically to this moment it’s important because the forces of fascism are inherently better at political violence than the forces of civic democracy.

Republicans deliberately delayed the most damaging effects of their so-called “big, beautiful bill” until after the midterms, hoping to avoid accountability for how they are hurting people. But much of the damage is already happening.

Listening to the wonderful Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese, and there's a gruesome description of a tracheotomy on a toddler who nearly suffocates from diphtheria. When they fight this disease, the lining of babies' throats can slough off and choke them. Fortunately, we have vaccines.

The percentage of Americans who "strongly disapprove" of the job Trump is doing as POTUS is 2x as large as the % who "strongly approve"

This is a pretty bearish signal for the GOP in this year's off-yr elections. & this is why he's trying to rebrand the OBBB

Trump's "strongly disapprove" numbers are record-setting (not in a good way)
Nearly a majority of Americans strongly disapprove of the job he's doing as president. That is starting to have political costs

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations.

If you're 45, that number is 74.7%.

If you're under 28, the number is 100%.

UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Humana have all faced lawsuits over their use of AI to process prior auths and claims, yielding a whopping 90% reversal rate upon appeal.

The problem, of course, is that most people do not appeal, and rates are especially low among less affluent patients.
What a cursed sentence (gift link)

We need economists. Very glad my kid is going to be one.
"Macroeconomics is the study of averages, and on average, taxes are gonna be a lot lower under this bill. But good economists look beneath the average and see what's happening to individuals. The combo of this bill + tariffs is gonna result in higher taxes for 80% of Americans"
