everyone keeps dancing around it but JD Vance keeps trotting out the “immigrants are taking our housing“ because it’s a nativist blood libel he’s engineering alongside eg “they eat our pets” but, more specifically, it is to legitimize the dispossession, en masse, of an entire sub-population.

A DoorDash spokesperson confirmed the same to me.

I followed up by asking is "inflation has been tamed" not something one should conclude from this report? The spokesperson said: "The White House can use the language that they are using on that. I’m not going to speculate on that."
🔥 The White House released an article on Monday citing a DoorDash report as confirmation that "inflation has been tamed."

I asked a DoorDash spokesperson today if the company had concluded from its report that inflation had been tamed. DoorDash spokesperson told me, "We did not write that."

RW media spin-cycle is still in effect.

NYP has the Epstein story front and center but is spinning it as a Clinton scandal.

Fox and WSJ have it buried on their home page, Fox is basically turned into a Michael Wolff story, WSJ is spun less but still leads with a GOP vs. D "cherry-picking" framing

If you're concerned, please blow in a paper bag for a sec, drink some water, and then read this thread. If you're *still* concerned, I'm not sure what to tell you.
Long thread summary: TikTok guy is full of it, SRF uptake has nothing to do with banks' credit performance (which is *improving* rn), SRF uptake is a sign of the system working as designed, and it's all because we made banks more stable by forcing them to manage liquidity more responsibly. FIN

It sounds like the tech CEOs have more sway here than the immigration hardliners (Miller/Vance). Or maybe he's just a sucker for something he can charge a price for ($100k H1B fee)

TRUMP: You have to bring in talent

INGRAHAM: Well, we have plenty of talented people in America

TRUMP: No you don't. No.

Still could be $RSP's worst day vs $QQQ since April 9.

I was curious about whether this might end up as an implied directive to governors to use their own pardon power on the state-level convictions, but it looks like it can't/won't happen...

- AZ has a D governor (Hobbs)
- GA has a R governor, but the governor doesn't have pardon power

2024 analysis is complicated, but I agree looking forward

Autocracy doesn't need broad support to survive if it can de-mobilize and de-motivate opposition. In 2026 + 2028 voters need to have faith that dems will fight for them. "Both parties suck" and cynicism will be easier for the GOP to exploit
I’m already seeing people insist that even with this capitulation the Democrats will still sweep 2026 because Trump is that bad. It was precisely that attitude that gave us 2024.

Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

"This legislation will protect federal workers from baseless firings"

No?? IMO they're even more vulnerable
1) Trump/Vought are already flouting the law on RIFs
2) Now the GOP will see RIFs as bargaining chip, not as a political liability

Terminal lack of self-preservation by some of these dems
“Um well there aren’t even any Senate Dem Press releases saying they support the deal”

Republicans seem to think that the norms created by the social contract are just sort of a immutable laws of nature and that therefore, tearing up the social contract will have no negative consequences for them, and I am, very much not looking forward to that thesis being tested
I think we're genuinely flirting with a societal rupture and I'm not sure I want to experience that
