They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. They’re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you don’t agree with that, you don’t understand Politics,

Perks of electing the youth
every time someone reminds me that lina khan is only 36 i am a) mad that i have not yet been the chair of the federal trade commission and b) so happy that she's going to be around to antagonize the worst people on earth for several decades
I'm just relieved that our new 34-year-old mayor will have access to the greater wisdom and experience of a 36-year-old

we can chalk it up to youth and inexperience but the biggest mistake the mamdani campaign made was winning by 8.8% and not 1.5%, which is the margin needed for the media to say it’s a total mandate

If the Democrats keep nominating charismatic candidates who actually like people, they're going to get massacred in 2026 and 2028.

This is the most alien way of understanding this. Young people are desperate for a means of channeling their beliefs. A political campaign offers that.
For NYT, the cause cannot be political. No, gen Z are just lonely, so they became unwitting drones for a campaign they don’t truly understand. #NYC

10M people watched a YouTuber shim a lock; the lock company sued him. Bad idea.
It’s still legal to pick locks, even when you swing your legs.

It’s validating to see NYT still doing Trump voter ethnography.
The actual size of any given population demo is irrelevant. It’s the mindshare given to each demographic that matters, hence their obsession with the idyllic and noble farmer

None of us should be surprised that democrats are punching left in times of right-wing overreach. This is tradition, alive and well. McCarthyism is alive in the Democratic Party, whom will join Mike Johnson in warning us against threatening “marxists.”
