We are Christopher Isherwood, watching the scenes in the Berlin street below from our apartment window above.
There is video of the shooting of a woman by ICE in Minneapolis circulating that shows an ICE agent repeatedly shooting her at point blank range while she tries to drive off. There was no obvious threat to any ICE agent.

I've got to be honest, we may as well call it a night #DuvetKnowItsChristmas
I’m entering The Teenager as potential winner of #Duvetknowitschristmas

He’s had to move from his bedroom to the unconverted attic

Cardboard floor & headboard is a nice touch which I’m sure he appreciates

He think it looks like he’s living in a meth den

The new Lily Allen album is absolutely magnificent. It’s impossible to exaggerate her influence over so many modern artistes and ‘West End Girl’ shows why. But my goodness it’s brutal. Tunes like nursery rhymes, lyrics like razor blades.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

If your response to Jewish people being stabbed to death and mowed down by a car in Manchester is “Gaza” you’re a charlatan and an antisemite and you need to get in the fucking bin.

I’ve had enough. Jews have had enough.

And you’re no ally of the Palestinian people if you behave like this.

Danny Kruger having a big role in Reform immediately takes them in a decidedly more anti-abortion direction. Implausible he'd have jumped without discussions on that point

The United Kingdom literally went from being a country where only 70 per cent of people were happy for their kids to be in a mixed-'race' relationship to a 90 per cent in the worst period for wage growth since the Napoleonic Wars!
I don't know why people on the left keep acting like people who go to open displays of nationalism featuring the Literal Are Tommy can somehow be reframed as agreeing with them

Surrogate pregnancies are increasingly popular in tech circles, and the practice is expected to explode globally in the coming decade. It’s also shockingly unregulated. This is a story about what happens when it goes horribly wrong.

not an attack on OP by any means but it sucks so bad to see these posts like "no one's going to the cinema, no one's reading books, no one's reading articles" as it's obviously entirely correct but also I'm doing those things!!! I don't want to lose them!!! I'm still doing all of them!!! stop!!!
You do have to wonder about the future of these industries when no one goes to the cinema any more, the highest rated TV shows get about 3 million viewers, and streaming is practically dead.
Blimey, Red is shutting down. The production company that made It’s a Sin and Happy Valley can’t continue operating in the current UK television landscape. Bloody hell. 😬
