An Alaskan through the looking glass, witnessing with unease impossible things I believed before breakfast coming true.

In search of terra firma, but what are destinations other than notional termini, shrinking the expanse of change between multiple points A and B to bearable weight? The odyssey matters. Might the compass be faulty, assuming a compass ever existed…
Shrinkflation at Costco. How long until bulk is considered 5 items instead of (previously) 32 (and currently 20)?

So Admiral Bradley is to be the fall guy for Pete Hegseth for war crimes. He gave the order after receiving the verbal command to “kill them all”. How do we feel about this?

Juneauites - our friend just shared that a friend of theirs had been walking their dog just north of the ND roundabout when someone fired a pellet gun at the dog. Dog is ok. Had a cold weather jacket on. Was reported to JPD. Vehicle was a black ford. Be safe out there.

Just think it’s a bit weird that society has been brainwashed in to thinking that rich people and massive corporations having a bit less money is the main thing we need to avoid no matter what.

Isn’t PT’s/R’s playbook to accuse others of their wrongs? Clearly this shows the direction of the admission, and it’s nowhere near Pope Leo.

The Pope speaks to humanity. This other group, PT’s group, is only interested in power and oppression.
Peter Thiel is calling Pope Leo the Antichrist. Honestly, that sounds like something the Antichrist would say.

How is what is happening in the US today between corporations and employees not a modern day version of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Different century. Same themes.

These are the last words of the American president who challenged us to go to the Moon. John F. Kennedy was murdered on November 22, 1963. This is the conclusion of the speech he had planned to deliver that evening.

Tell me we live in ridiculous times without telling me.
The defense team presses Lairmore on whether the sandwich really 'exploded.' They return to the photo of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.

Tiring of government by social media and for reality TV. Really hoping the next admin is transparent and expedient but lets the results speak for themselves.

“There’s too many Americans on SNAP!”

Yes there are. Too many corporations refuse to pay a living wage.

Huge companyies are encouraging their employees to apply for SNAP because they don’t pay them enough to survive.

The government encourages this & then blames the poor.

Fentanyl and coke are the new “weapons of mass destruction” lie. It’s Iraq all over again, folks. It’s always about controlling the oil.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

#AlaskaSky Has anyone started/where can I find/how can I contribute to a comprehensive community by community list of where to donate - food, time, dollars, toys - in the upcoming months/holidays because of the shutdown?

This, still.

If you can, think about how you can support your local community-food banks, volunteering, and extra kindness in passing interaction.
In all the chaos, I would urge folks to remember that a lot of folks now don’t know when their next check will come.

The vast majority are good people who love this nation deeply, and many of them are still working despite not knowing when they’ll be paid

Have compassion.

Pope Leo almost makes me want to fall off the recovering Catholic bandwagon. Almost. He’s a moral voice of reason in touch with current events and needs a bigger spotlight.
Pope Leo: Those “who in commerce engage in usurious and mercantile practices that cause hunger and death among their brothers and sisters in humanity, create ‘structures of sin’ and carry ‘grave responsibility.’” www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news...

Solidarity. We will always be stronger together wherever we seek positive change.
This week:

-Three more universities rejected Trump's extortion compact
-Over a dozen airports refused to play Kristi Noem's propaganda video
-30+ press outlets refused to comply with Pete Hegseth's new restrictions

The only way to rebuke Trump's authoritarianism is solidarity.

Is the Pope going to be the hero for the moment with a working bully pulpit? Can a certain hillbilly get excommunicated? I need to see rhetoric have consequences.
