My dog. Bless her. She’s been doing a lot of emotional heavy lifting since she arrived in our lives in 2016. This look was created by our dog walker who needed a cheer up.

In Hurricane Katrina, mainstream media were more worried people might take stuff rom WalMart than that grandmothers were dying on rooftops of buildings surrounded by contaminated floodwater.
People will tell you that they view property destruction as equivalent to violence against a person, but that's not true. They think property destruction is worse

Last-minute donations could decide this election! Just yesterday in Wisconsin, thanks to a new wave of donations, MVP partners were able to deploy 100 new canvassers in Milwaukee. Every dollar still counts!

I was not aware of this. "ballot curing was the difference in the 2020 presidential election in both Georgia and Wisconsin. It can also make the difference in congressional races, state legislative races, and especially in local races".

It's done by volunteers, on the phone; see the link for orgs

Want to feel like a big ass donor?

A typical state leg race costs about 3% of a federal counterpart.

Let's shock MAGA all over. Donate to up to 100 Democrats running for competitive state legislative races at once.

Pointing again at my US Blue State Challenge. If you live in a "blue state", pick the red state you hate the most and the issue you care about the most and find a group in that state working on that issue and support them.
One thing I don’t understand is why, when people are outraged by some injustice or affront — like book bans — they don’t first look to see who is already tracking the issue, who’s already working on education + organization. “We need to do something!” People *are*. Find them. Help them.

Venture capital killed a 151-year-old magazine that I and so many other people were proud to work for, until, of course, we were all laid off a few weeks ago.
After 151 years, Popular Science will no longer offer a magazine
The long-running publication has come to an end.

At Al-Shifa hospital Gaza:

We currently have around 600 inpatients who need medical care.

We have around 37 to 40 premature babies.

We have around 17 other patients in the ICU.

We have around 600 postoperative admitted patients which need medical care.

We need a ceasefire.

if you live close to San Francisco please consider coming with me to this protest for a ceasefire tomorrow at the SF Federal Building. It's an extremely BART accessible location.

bring water, wear a mask, pee before you get there bc public restrooms will be scant.

Israel's minister of national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, said the only thing that should enter Gaza until the hostages are released are “hundreds of tons of explosives” from the Israeli Air Force, "not an ounce of humanitarian aid.”
