Reminder: you should absolutely start wearing the best mask you can find in public spaces, even if you stopped before. We have no public health at the top level & repeat infections have ravaged immune systems.

If someone gives you a hassle, say "even if it's just a cold, I DON'T WANT THAT EITHER!"

It's time for everyone's favorite chronologically unanchored holiday, The Story of the Lizard in the Leg.
Because people keep asking, the Story of The Lizard In That Dude's Leg. Some caveats:

1. This happened more than twenty years ago. There are no pictures. There was a small article in a local paper with, again, no pictures (I'm assuming that's what the producers of 9-1-1: LONE STAR found).

Consequences are not cancel culture. They're just a new concept for parts of society, who have never actually had to deal with them before.
When the papers start whining about “cancel culture” again, remember that these men are stepping down 1) voluntarily, and 2) because their jobs have no real impact on their wealth and power, and 3) BECAUSE OF THE RAPING.

I propose November 1st as resurgence day. Halloween ends, and we all pick up the phones again. MasterCard and Visa, bare minimum, once per day. Every day. All of us. They are only hiring the usual number of holiday workers, this would frighten credit card companies. “It’s not going away”
A source familiar w/ internal workings at MasterCard notes the company does not plan to recruit additional call center workers for the Christmas season, as MasterCard does not expect higher call volume than usual. A resurgence of calls re censorship during the busy season would be huge strategically

This bothers me more and more as I get older. It is so normal to change our minds when we encounter new information. Everyone’s so scared of being a little embarrassed at not knowing, but it’s fine and normal to not know everything.
I am frankly sick of all the people who insist “so and so seemed off from the start.”

Stop lying. Sometimes bad people are very charming and likable and you liked them and that’s fine.

This post shows up for me flagged as rude. I know some people think it's impolite to remind them that proportionately, most of the lives saved by vaccines are those of children; it's also true. Vaccinations save children. If you care about them, fight FOR vaccination, not AGAINST abortion.
There’s a section in my shul’s cemetery that’s just babies, toddlers, and littles. The most recent died less than 100 years ago. If you love your kids, vaccinate them.

I both agree with this sentiment, and feel there is no way in a generally purple country to stop shielding the people who made this choice while also ceasing to shield the people who had nothing to do with it. Children exist. Blue voters in red states exist.
At some point, Democrats need to respect the will of the voters and not shield Republican voters from the consequences of their votes. They have voted for Medicaid cuts.

All the OB/GYN units became legal liabilities with the Dodd decision. Which they voted for.

But Democrats are baby murderers.
Rural Oregon has a dire warning for the rest of the country.

That is just plainly not true. Your budget slashed help for people who buy Affordable Care Act plans. That's 22 million Americans whose premiums are going up - RIGHT NOW - by double digits directly because of a policy you passed.

The economics of books aren't quite the same as the economics of card sets. They cost less, but involve more dedicated work by one person, which means that in most cases, they take longer. A book represents a major leap of faith for a franchise like Magic.

Let's earn it.
In addition to the #MTGStrixhaven web fiction there will be a full novel set in the school of Strixhaven penned by Seanan McGuire!

Omens of Chaos is a YA novel set at Strixhaven about the first-ever class of interplanar students who have journeyed to the school via Omenpath.

Getting to write this book was a dream come true. A difficult dream at times, involving a lot of editorial feedback, but a dream.
