pretty obvious shift from following nonpartisan (scientific, medical) authority to following partisan authority. Public health advocates and researchers need to view that as the challenge, rather than rummaging around for the explanation for vaccine hesitancy in this or that community.
Republicans increasingly oppose requiring healthy kids to get MMR vaccines to attend public schools

As an American citizen, I’d like to go on record. I didn't vote for this chaos, I don't support this bullshit, and I have never supported our unnecessary military interventions.

This is not the will of the American people, it's the will of the powerful acting in our name.
Turkish Airlines, Brazil's Gol, Colombia's Avianca and TAP Air Portugal have canceled their flights departing from Caracas. This follows the FAA issuing a security NOTAM cautioning aircraft operators about potential dangers in Venezuelan airspace that looks like this today:

This is a stunning story. I've been tracking the "greenhushing" narrative for a while now: this is the idea that strict regulations on fake climate claims spooks companies into total silence; therefore we shouldn't regulate them.

@meyer.bsky.social asked for examples and the Carney gov't failed:

Amid the climate crisis, politicians campaigning against bike lanes — as in Montreal municipal election campaign — aren’t fit for office.

Except, of course, it’s *not* all he can say.

Cassidy could concede publicly that confirming Kennedy was a tragic mistake. He could call for RFK Jr's resignation. He could schedule hearings, haul the secretary to Capitol Hill, and demand the CDC’s public resources reflect the scientific cannon.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

@carlbfrey.bsky.social: the AI bubble differs in key respects from the 90s tech bubble, with bigger macroeconomic risks. First, unlike long-lived fiber-optic cable and backbone networks built in the 90s, today's AI chips & memory quickly degrade or become obsolete, requiring constant reinvestment.

Carl Benedikt Frey thinks the productivity gains are more muted, and the macro risks more pronounced, than in the dot-com bubble.

Elon Musk donated $277 million to Trump so he could steal the federal government’s data, dismantle the nation’s infrastructure, and stop foreign aid from going to nonwhite people. It’s a quid pro quo breathtaking in scope, corruption, and damage, & completely unprecedented in American history.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

LNG is dirty!

LNG is much dirtier than solar, wind, hydro, geothermal & nuclear in Japan or anywhere.

LNG is now often more carbon intensive than national electricity carbon intensity.

LNG's CO2 intensity of at least ~507gCO2/kWh is higher than Japan's 2024 483gCO2/kWh. #energysky

Yes we committed a bunch of crimes, destroyed faith in government, fired thousands of hard-working public servants, and doomed millions of innocent people to painful and needless deaths, but at least we saved negative money
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.

We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.

We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.
