it is an unfortunate feature of American politics that a stone cold weirdo like Curtis Sliwa can seem appealing simply for genuinely believing his freak shit- having core beliefs is so rare and strange it feels admirable even if the beliefs are hot garbage

there’s a lot of talk about defeatism but I’m not sure any institution has embraced it as much as the media, which has decided that because Trump was re-elected after everything there is no longer any such thing as a scandal

shit that would be a five alarm fire in term one is met with a shrug

John Fetterman’s a disgrace to the oaf community. He does not represent America’s lumbering buffoons, ham-fisted galoots, or men whose heavy footsteps are soundtracked by a tuba.

WTAF? They are already working to erase and re-write history. Apparently Google thinks 2021-2024 was the MCU blip and didn’t really happen?

So, in light of current events, are we about to see the third wave of immigration to BlueSky?

(I say immigration since i doubt anyone wants back to the bad place).

A weird thing about being online is you’ll get a notification that someone named “feral weirdo” follows you and you’ll go ah good a normal person, and then you’ll get a notification that someone named “Professor Thomas Smith” follows you and you’ll think oh no a weirdo

How have I not seen this thread before?!! Truly a masterpiece.
4 yrs ago today, a family member managed a truly spectacular own goal, splintered his domestic bliss, & in the process, united the world for a day.

On popular request, I shall now recreate the livetweet thread from that day

So gather around children, for this is the tale of The Rice Truck Saga

I really hope nobody told Jimmy Carter the results of the election. Guy deserved more than going out with that weight on his mind.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

If your argument for a trend against superhero movies has a ONE BILLION DOLLAR exception, you have a nonsensical argument.

Audiences want to see movies that look entertaining. That's it. Kraven's failure isn't because it's a superhero movie, it's because it looked like crap.

ABC and its cohorts have long demonstrated a willingness to let the world burn for the sake of ratings. This reached it's zenith in 2016, but we can't seem to keep hold of the lesson.
They didn't just capitulate, they harmed E. Jean Carroll's case which is still on appeal. Just watch: ABC's settlement will make it into Trump's appellate briefs.

And Trump will get ABC's $ long before E. Jean Caroll see a dime of his.

Way to go ABC - joining the oppressor and oppressing...
