NYTimes is nostalgic for the “clubby world” of … child molesters.
Right.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

It can be depressing watching mainstream "Christianity" descent into the moral abyss of faux-christian rightwinglery. So it is wonderful to see a religious leader who actually cares about what Jesus taught.
For a change.
NEW: Cardinal Blase Cupich, the Archbishop of Chicago, has issued a new statement declaring that Chicago "communities are shaken by immigration raids and detentions. These actions wound the soul of our city. Let me be clear. The Church stands with migrants."

Kind of amazing to think about how different the world might be today if PayPal had just... failed early on and shut down. You can trace so much nonsense today back to PayPal getting bailed out by eBay.

Pope Francis, who has died at 88, fought for economic justice with a consistency that distinguished him from the elites of his time.

Last night was the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops.

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

Remind you of anyone?

This is a global phenomenon, that has been very evident in recent Brazilian elections as well. If countries are unable to discipline the social media platforms, this portends the definitive end to the viability of electoral democracy itself.

Earth just hit 430 ppm of CO₂
This is climate history in the breaking
For 800,000 years, CO₂ never rose above 280 ppm
Last time we hit 430 ppm (3–4 million years ago) sea levels were 20m–30 m higher
This should be front-page news but it’s barely mentioned
