This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

It's my husband's birthday and he's asked for a lie in, which is a very reasonable request, but I've been up since 5:30am with the dog and I am SO EXCITED to give him his presents

To be very clear, the actual war against Christianity is the people who use the cross as a means to carry out the most heinous acts against the same people Christ would have left the flock to comfort

Hi friends, it's been a few months since I've shown my face on here. We had a loss that winded me somewhat, and hibernating has been helpful. Popping back on to say hello, and I hope you are all okay despite *gestures hands at everything going on in the world* Hoping to be around a bit more now

"Christianity’s most powerful metaphor is the Body of Christ, and that body was not perfect by classical standards. It was broken. Wounded. Pierced. And when Christ rose from the dead, he did not shed his scars. He showed them."

Almost finished preparing my first staff training session on understanding the long-lasting impacts of having experience of the criminal justice system and the potential barriers to higher education.
Grateful to our Specialist Support team for asking me to deliver this.
Very encouraging and exciting first meeting looking at how we, as a university, can better support applicants & students who have experience of the criminal justice system!
I've been given approval to start a very exciting project, and my brain is urging me to tap dance and "woop woop" around the office.

Note, I cannot tap dance, so it would mostly be frantically happy stomping with a slight spring

Take a look at my piece in @feweek.bsky.social on why the proposed incentives to get prisoners engaging in education have the potential to be incredible, but how easy it will be to screw the whole thing up (and of course, how to make sure it isn’t!)

Early release incentive could fix broken prison education
Plan to reward prisoners for engaging in education with early release must unlock real opportunities, not just doors

Which was especially alarming because I'm sitting here in a cardigan and looking forward to the prospect of a peppermint tea in an hours time

Valuable @courtwatchldn.bsky.social reporting highlighting that delays to trials mean people are being tried as adults, despite having been children when they committed the crime.
🐌⏰When justice moves so slowly that a child becomes an adult before their case is heard…

Court delays are pushing young people, originally charged as children, into adult courtrooms. And our keen-eyed courtwatchers are picking up on this disturbing trend… [1/9]

This summer, I plan on hosting a garden party where only hotdogs and martinis are provided. I'm calling it a 'tinis and weenies' party.
there was a point in my life when i was younger and snootier and thought "i'm too sophisticated for hot dogs" but these days, on the rare occasion that i have one (basically, today), my thought is always "damn a good hotdog is good as hell"

Like others, I understand why they released the fact that the perpetrator of the horrendous Liverpool attack was a white British man.

But it is a bad sign of where our country of at.

Nationality or ethnicity are not the causes of crime & should not be our first concern #r4today

Every so often, my husband asks if he can blow-dry my hair after I said how treasured & cared for it made me feel the first time he did it. A while ago, I learnt he'd been watching YouTube tutorials for techniques. Tonight, he revealed a hair product he'd read good reviews about & thought I'd like.
