Amid these dark moments, something important is beginning to shift.

It's clearly the result of healthy political pressure - which we must sustain, and build.

I was a little heavy-handed with the crushed pepper in the soup, but still delicious!

In other news, I don't know if cats are supposed to have marshmallows, but Charlie said he can, so, I'm now sharing marshmallows with a cat.

Ya know what's super fun? Shoveling ice and snow and cleaning off an iced over car in sub 20/-6 degree temperatures with 15 mph winds when you're still recovering from the flu.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I hate winter and everything it stands for.

Republican politicians who think that Minneapolis is a political problem are missing the point. It is a moral problem. But they are in so deep that they cannot see just how morally bankrupt they have become. They do not understand that we are as revulsed by their complicity as by Trump's cruelty.

VA Folks, In the next 2 tweets, I'll include links to the Hanover County and Ashland Councils. Take some time today while you're stuck inside to write to each and every member of both and tell them that they can not, under any circumstances, allow this to happen:

I do. Sort of. This time I've known they were doing it on purpose for a long time. It wasn't because I saw a "second plane". It's because I've known who he was for a long time, and when he surrounded himself with people like Kavanaugh, Hegseth, and Miller, I was afraid this was something they'd do.

RE: Bondi's letter to Gov. Walz:
Lots of people are asking me why DOJ is leveraging the ICE deployment in Minnesota to obtain unreacted copies of the state's sensitive voter file data. I recently explained why this is the biggest legal story and may be the biggest political story of the year.

Watch and share.

I believe this 100%. @marcelias.bsky.social has been all over this push for voter data. I don't think this was the original plan, but I'm not remotely surprised it what they've come up with.

Basically, "Gov. Walz, hand over your voter data, or we'll keep murdering people in your state".
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

MN State Rep Aisha Gomez just told Alex Witt on MS, "Right now, there is no way to stay safe", in response to Alex's question about what she's telling her constituents about how to stay safe.

Terrfyingly, she's correct.

Completely verifiable, too:
Statistically speaking, you are more likely to die at the hands of law enforcement officers than undocumented immigrants.

And it’s not particularly close.

Regardless of if this is correct, Gov. Walz just said that one video they've seen shows the man who was murdered was trying to help a woman ICE thugs had knocked over.
Alex Pretti, the man killed by federal agents today in Minneapolis, appears to have been a registered nurse, an athlete, a son and a brother, with ties to Colorado and Wisconsin.

Here is a photo he used for several accounts.

New saga along the lines of RiceTruck®️ just dropped!
A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

As we're all getting ready for this storm (except you lucky people in the West), let's share some things we're doing to prepare that aren't normally on the list in case we lose power, and help each other out a bit. For example, I'm:

* Doing laundry
* Cleaning
* Making extra coffee to store

Of course Trump won't use force in Greenland. Just like he wasn't going to implement Project 2025. Just like he wasn't going to overturn Roe. Just like he wasn't going to do any regime change. Just like he wasn't going to demolish the East Wing.
You're going to read a lot of headlines out of Davos that misleadingly suggest that a transatlantic crisis has passed. But if you listen to Trump's entire speech, it sounds like the crisis is just getting started.
Beware The "Trump Won't Use Force in Greenland" Headlines
