This. Pundits *and*citizens are lazy and vulnerable to fear propaganda and tend to accept premises rather than push back on claims of crime without providing any context or perspective. It’s a gun lobby / project 2025 authoritarian effort. @jamellebouie.net
You can convince people of just about anything especially if you're been pouring into them the idea that Urban Areas are crime ridden hellholes unlike your rural-suburbia where the actual statistical likelihood of getting murdered is double or triple the national average.

Good news, Goldman Sachs is forecasting that U.S. Brent crude oil price will drop to the low $50's in 2026!
If we can actually drive oil prices this low next year by reducing demand enough and keep it that low for about a year, that should drive about half of our small-scale oil companies bankrupt!
