The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

#Phoenix concluded an October that was 0.9F (0.5C) above normal. The big story was rainfall. The 3.26" (82.8 mm) made October 2025 the third wettest October on record. The 3-day total of 2.93" (74.4 mm) during October 10-12 was the highest 3-day amount for any October. #azwx

The preliminary value for the global mean temperature for October 25 was 15.03C on ERA-5. That would surpass the daily record of 15.01C from 2024 and tie 2024 for the latest observed 15C or above temperature.
