Whatever happens now, we absolutely cannot allow Trump's refusal to seek Congressional authorization for what appears to be a large scale military attack on another country vanish from the media discussion, which already appears to be happening.

To hell with editors. To hell with grammatically correct sentences. It’s time to speak to the American public in the second person. But not all of the American public. Just you, the _real_ American public. Oh yeah. And to hell with undershirts too. This is the NEW CBS!!!

There are multiple national political commentators who earnestly predicted that Eric Adams would be a legitimate presidential candidate and a national figurehead of the Democratic party by now and those commentators still have careers somehow.

MAGA and DHS are melting down over Kilmar Ábrego García “making TikToks.”

I went to look at the video they’re complaining about, and all he’s doing is lip sync to a Christian song in Spanish about trusting God amid trials and tribulations.

Ever year, thousands of trucks are involved in fatal accidents. In 2022, fatal large truck crashes peaked at an average 16 deadly crashes per day.

In the last few months, less than a dozen such crashes involved people who DHS claims are unlawfully present. From that, a moral panic has been created.

Nope. Can't do this. As federal courts have repeatedly made clear.

Unfortunately, an open question for 2026 is whether the Supreme Court will allow the administrations to rename the I-5 "TRUMP HIGHWAY."

Stay tuned, I suppose.

There's an obvious solution to this whole kerfuffle: Run the original 60 Minutes story *and* do Barry Weiss town hall with Stephen Miller. Win win.

This is what the kids call a "must read thread." 👇

PS- Rep @seancasten.bsky.social, I beg you to do a similar response thread to literally anything @mattyglesias.bsky.social has written about immigration in the last two years...
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

Great point from @cnewman.bsky.social in this thread: Home Depot is becoming the locus point for immense human rights abuses, and it's time for Home Depot to take a side in this struggle. Chris suggests targeting it the same way the targeting of Tesla paid off:

I feel sorry for Miller’s kids. We don’t get to pick our parents.

One day they will learn that their parents were the Magda and Joseph Goebbels of the USA

I hope they can escape their toxic home without too much psychological damage.
