I biked at -40 just to see a girl. I rode on a cyclocross bike with studded tires & duct taped cycling shoes just to get a little of a women's time.

I graduated high school in the early aughts. I had friends that signed up for the guard after being assured there would be no deployments of guard overseas. My friends all came back from Iraq broken mentally and/or physically. Another generation is going to learn this difficult lesson.
