The victory of progressive candidates is a byproduct of our work caring for one another and building a better world, not the goal of our work.

Such a mind fuck how Covid conscious folks are accused of not "moving on" when really we're the only ones who've evolved our behavior to fit the science, while others cling to some 2019 glittery dream world indefinitely

In “Against AI: Critical Refusal in the Library,” I examine LIS as in need of a values-realignment, asking readers to refuse the technosolutionism we are so often offered in place of human-centered possibilities, like taking racism, climate change, and labor rights seriously

The majority don’t know (or are in denial) that they could be (or are) ableist

They go: “I’m not ableist because ______”

Or: “I’d rather not wear a mask in public but _____”

Fact ➡️ being anti-ableist & anti-eugenics requires action

Caring about immunocompromised people = wearing a mask in public

"Women need to be protected from men" isn't actually feminism it's the basis of patriarchy. Patriarchy offers to "protect women" from its own violence if they submit to patriarchal power and authority, that's just how the system works

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

What Putnam misses is that we're struggling to form community because we've been forced to DIY society. Without unions or a decent safety net, most Americans are caught in precarity and have to put so much energy into paid work and unpaid care for family that they have nothing left for community.

Institutions must learn: there's no appeasing fascists. Columbia humiliated itself, broke the law, brutalized students/faculty, and destroyed the concept of truth. It was targeted not in spite of that, but because of it. If you lack integrity and show weakness, you'll be crushed.

Please stop using the planet destroying slop machine that is generative AI.

No, it's not okay to use it for leftist or progressive causes. You don't stand with the working class or marginalized people by stealing their art without compensation.
