Messy 3 color ink comics (gold, blue, and dark blue - will add materials list later) Person in a plaid shirt (me) painting at an easel late at night next to a bookshelf and plant. Text: 12 am painting furiously so I can go play with all the other artists tomorrow Closer up panel, you can see the artist is painting the artist painting. Text: 1 am painting the comic about painting (and the painting about the comic about painting) 3 OOTDs (outfit of the day) Shortsleeved jumpsuit, big oversized shirt with little quilt pattern in the middle (by citruslucy!!) and pants, chunky sweater with star trails on the sleeve (by carmico!!) and loose jeans. Text: 11 am try to decide what to wear I could lie in the comics and no one would know except... A mostly blue shaded person with thick circle glasses (@fivepaninis) drawing furiously in a sketchbook in the bg. In the fg me, also drawing furiously with a curly que furrowed brow. Text:....I live with another artist doing hourlies. (what if I change every hour to up the difficulty)

Incidentally, for 2024’s Hourly Comics Day, I started to make a comic about the history of Simone and Hourly Comics Day. But (ha ha) you know how it is with HCD sometimes — it gets away from you. Here’s as much as I made.
HOURLY COMIC DAY. A series of comics drawn in the style of Simone Veil. Hourly comic day is observed annually on February 1st. It was started in 2006 by webcomic artist Simone Veil. (Hey) she’s has come out as trans in the intervening year years, so she went by a different name in 2006. You may recognize her as the author of the webcomic pictures for sad children. Her comics are simply drawn often black and while. Characters are usually heads and bodies with stick arms. This is me trying to imitate her style (kind of a pale imitation). Her comics often concern sadness and existential dread manifesting in strange and surreal ways. In 2011, she held a kickstarter for a print compilation of pfsc. Funding greatly exceeded her expectations. In 2014x after struggling to fulfill the last of the orders and contending with a rising chorus of internet hate, she posted a video of her burning boxes of unshipped comics. Then she deleted her comic archives and vanished off th internet. But I digress. On December 21, 2005, Simone Drew a comic every hour she was awake. When th day was over, she kept going. On January 25, 2006, she picked a day and invited other people to give it a try too. And they did.

Storygraph is so incredible. I filed a ticket because I noticed a book I read was missing the author, only had the illustrator, and within 20 mins a volunteer librarian had fixed it.

Kona returned to the stars. We always joked she was a space alien sent to earth to pose (somewhat unconvincingly) as a dog and learn everything she could about humans. She had so many wonderful experiences, made so many friends, and gave us so much joy every single day. I'll miss you, Kona bear. 🤍

If anyone else wants an Adobe Animate alternative, I can’t recommend Moho enough. It’s affordable, it’s efficient, it’s been used in feature films from Cartoon Saloon like Wolfwalkers, and the best part…NO Ai whatsoever.
