The richness of the Somali community here is one of the things I love about living here. This ugly rhetoric aimed at my neighbors and colleagues is unacceptable. Thank you for the drive and stamina to keep fighting for decency and justice.
Donald Trump’s disgraceful attacks on Minnesota’s Somali community are injecting more of his poisonous racism into our beloved home state. Hearing him single out our people based solely on their race and country of origin is downright disgusting.

I am shocked and appalled by the shooting of two members of the National Guard in Washington D.C. today.

There's still a lot we don't know about the shooting. In the meantime, I'm hoping the victims fully recover. My prayers are with them and their loved ones.
