It IS better if you finish that project
But it's great if you create at all

Sometimes you must push yourself if you want to get it done
But sometimes forcing it will just overexert and exhaust you

If it doesn't need to be done now
Then come back tomorrow

If it keeps you creating

I love cartoons. I love animation. I love artists and art no matter the medium or skill level.

I love human expression and being able to put ones soul into a piece all their own.

Keeps me going.

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.

Image prompters can never be real artists because a genAI tool will never draw leaves on a tree that will be obscured by a house in the final drawing so nobody will ever see the leaves

I sometimes see people beating themselves up over not immediately being great at a creative craft. But I think the more important part of learning a craft is having fun with it.

If fame and riches are your sole goals in learning something, you will be miserable.

"Things might be tough but it's great for artists! They'll create more!" You might not believe me but going through a lifetime's worth of stress Every Single Week for years and years- is actually not the optimal set of circumstances that inspires artists to create

In another world, I would be living in a cottage far away from society, making art while my cats makes me biscuits.

Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.
