I don't want to seem like a writing snob. I can forgive some florid scene-setting if it's part of a good story. But I cannot convey just *how much* of the book is this shit. There are maybe 4 pages about her relationship with RFK. Her entire journalism career is maybe 15% of the book.

anyway, i got word tonight just before all this that ICE is doing raids in Huron, SD, where there's a significant population of Karen refugees from what used to be Burma. They have a very large tightknight community there, and many of them work at the turkey processing plant there. I hate this.
