I genuinely think if Hillary Clinton gave him a box of werther’s originals and a kiss on the cheek he’d think they were best friends for that particular meeting. He’s like a dog, he just knows that whatever is on his side of the fence must be fine and whatever isn’t is evil.

Disabled people tried to warn you.

We said that the rising eugenicist sentiment that accelerated during the “back to normal” phase of Covid would eventually hurt everyone

The new healthcare plan for America appears to be:

Don’t get sick

If you do get sick, it’s your fault

If you can’t pay, die

I hope we Americans can let go of our desire to be the individual Chosen One who leads the rebellion and punches every Nazi. Organizing is hard, it takes experience and resources and time. Stop fantasizing about being a superhero. Start joining existing groups and be part of collective action.

it is beyond time to see your own complicity in the present moment: when you only mask at protests & never even consider doing so in the grocery store, pharmacy, on public transit, you contribute to a social climate able to criminalize protective tools. CHOOSE SOLIDARITY, prevent infection, mask up.
resist mainstreaming the far right & their ideals with choices you make every day—an easy one is to wear a respirator in, at the very least, public indoor spaces.

needless spread of novel & thought-to-be-gone pathogens has been key to the eugenicists playbook. prevent it.

RFK Jr. espouses a particularly modern but recognizable form of eugenics, the idea that we can "improve" the human race by culling undesirables from the gene pool. My latest draws on @juliametraux.bsky.social , @swordsjew.bsky.social , and my deep unfortunate knowledge of 20th century science:
Wellness, Eugenics, and RFK, Jr.
I’ve been in my new house for almost a month now, so finally things are settling down a little bit. For me personally, that is: obviously things are not...

A couple weeks ago, I wrote that the MAHA movement does not want to eliminate chronic illness- it wants to eliminate the chronically ill. Since then, RFK Jr’s actions and statements have only reinforced my belief that his HHS will target disabled and sick ppl.

RFK Jr.'s "MAHA" movement doesn't want to eliminate chronic illness. They want to eliminate the chronically ill.
Public health, modern medicine and disease mitigation will suffer under RFK Jr. because he sees sick people- not sickness- as the problem.

I wrote about this a bit in my last book but it really shakes me that a defining feature of this catastrophic era is that we just keep going to work. We work through pandemics, we work through natural disasters, we work through economic calamity, we work through coups, we work, we work, we work.
