Started Helen @helen_goh_bakes’ new book with an apple cake — had to honour the season. Softened apples cooked in butter + cider vinegar melt into a ginger-lemon scented batter, all topped with a punchy ginger-lemon glaze. Comfort with a spark.

I need advice: I used to listen to Spotify all the time and then I cancelled it during one of the boycotts (its support of Trump's inauguration). Since then I haven't listened to music, and I miss it. What are my other options?

I got a much poorer sleep than usual last night because I left the bedroom door open to my cats, but having one sleep up against my shoulder all night and the other climb on me, make biscuits on me, and head butt me at 4:30 were curiously worth it 🥰 🐈⬛ 🐈

A very stark reminder why no one goes out on foot after dark in Churchill, Manitoba. This mom and her cubs came just off the beach and behind the town complex. The Polar Bear Alert staff gently herded them away from town to keep everyone safe. #mammals #BearSeason2025 🌿

Apples, butterscotch, and gingerbread star in my favorite upside-down cake of all time. A big dollop of softly whipped cream on top is a requirement. I recently refreshed it; it's now more spiced, uses fewer bowls, and is scaled down to fit in a 9-inch pan.

Apples, butterscotch, and gingerbread star in my favorite upside-down cake of all time. A big dollop of softly whipped cream on top is a requirement. I recently refreshed it; it's now more spiced, uses fewer bowls, and is scaled down to fit in a 9-inch pan.

Even though the hummingbirds have left for the year, I still leave a hummingbird feeder out w/ sugar water for the solitary bees which feed from the feeder all winter long. As do house finches, the wee verdins & sometimes a woodpecker. Pic taken this afternoon. #SaveTheBees #BeesAreLife

The restaurant where I order my poke bowl changed their ingredients and upped the price. So I get less fresh food, more ultra processed crap, AND I have to pay more for that 🙄
