The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

I drove through this intersection about an hour before this happened. And was smiling my whole drive seeing kiddos (and adults) decked out in their costumes. The cruelty is the point...fuck ICE & Border Patrol.

The whole thread here is important, but this point is the kicker...so many people, even in the Chicagoland area, just aren't aware of how much is going on and how bad it is.
This is also why you can still walk outside every day and go to work with everything appearing mostly "normal" and you meet people in your day to day who have no idea four neighborhoods were tear gassed last week and you feel completely fucking insane over it all

I get that we all get had here and there. It happens to even the most careful people. That said, when it comes to AI generated slop - please don't make it, share it, or amplify it. Not only are you helping to poison the water supply of whole communities, but you're helping to destroy our brains.

It’s of note that during tonight’s hearing the DoJ didn’t even try to make the case that changing conditions on the ground in Portland warranted the CA National Guard. Instead they relied on legal technicalities. Proving again that what they say in court is different than lies they tell the public.

Amid these ICE raids, something folks should understand about the Chicago suburbs is that a lot of stereotypes about the era of white flight from the city do not apply. A lot of these folks were priced out of Chicago and many commute to work here. They are part of the same social fabric.
