At the risk of being "that guy" the way you get started with a promotion is you just start watching. This seems to be a trend lately like you have to know the entire company lore before enjoying it. Just watch, you'll catch up.

Trying to coast off of name recognition, a low-effort product, and underhanded business tactics has a shelf life.
This has been a tough year for "WWE is good at business" folks. Lost NBC as a partner. No deal for NXT ppvs. No U.S. deal for AAA. No one wanted their TNA offer. No one wants their library. And challenging AEW head-to-head exposed their product as dreadfully inferior.

The smartest thing they ever did was stop reacting to the griftsphere and just focus on being AEW. It paid dividends.
AEW said "okay have fun with that," started running concert halls and theaters, cut out all the bullshit and went balls to the wall great wrestling from interesting characters. 🤷
