A note for Chicago Progressives and "socialists:" It's not more acceptable when you do it.
The head of Chicago Parks @carlosrosa.bsky.social has signed off on using these same tactics against the unhoused in Chicago and plans on clearing an encampment at Legion Park on September 9th.

Note that Alder Nugent who is one of the most vocal complainers about the encampment is nowhere to be found on building a solution.
The city plans to continue to sweep northwest side encampments, but there's no emergency shelter in that area for single unhoused Chicagoans to go to. A tentative city-state partnership is looking to change that. I wrote about it for week's Make it Make Sense:
