Israel has killed at least 280 people in Gaza since the ‘ceasefire’ took effect. ‘The fragile ceasefire’ is a hand-wringing euphemism. It’s not fragile. It’s broken.

O pai do banqueiro preso, Henrique Vorcaro, fundou a Multipar.

What if we reinvent romance to put masculinity at the centre?

What do you mean in some cases it already is?!!

Ma'am. Yes. I feel like that every day. "HEA is required" is like an annual thing along with "don't tag authors in reviews," and "don't engage with review commentary as an author about your book."

The more things change the more they are the exact same, right?

I saw the most bonkers conversation on tiktok where people were arguing that Romance doesn’t need an HEA and authors were fighting for their lives in the comments trying to explain what a genre convention is. Again, trying to sell me a mystery with no crime and see what happens.
God we need more craft discussions and less fights about which tropes are good or bad that play out in a way that makes it clear no one even understands what a trope is anymore.
Romance should evolve, but its so clear when people want the shine and financial benefit of Romance without respecting the genre, its conventions, or the readers. It's disturbing, but not surprising that we've arrived in a place where CRAFT DOESNT MATTER is a thing people believe.

Also, surprising nobody, they’re focusing on hiring non-romance writers because what could romancelandia POSSIBLY know about how to make romance books appealing
I’ll say this much: This reads exactly like what it is: people who discovered romance five years ago and decided they had all kinds of amazing new ideas to “fix” it. Connections between books? That feel kind of cozy to the reader? How did no one ever think of that?? www.nytimes.com/2025/11/13/b...

I wrote a Patreon post yesterday about how publishing is how treating romance novels as an accessory for influencers and god I hate being right. Also it’s telling that there’s a whole thread in the comments saying how mid the books are.

And it’s not even Valentine’s Day, the usual season of uninformed takes on romance novels!

This is the actual embodiment of "books as a product", and it is so, so bleak.

I don't think these people even like romance novels. They just sound exactly like tech bros who try to reinvent the wheel for the sake of it, without even understanding their own industry.

It's telling that they think "obsessiveness" is something generated by the structure of a piece of media; as a thing they can game. Here in reality, people obsess over media because it has earned their investment by giving them something meaningful (emotionally or intellectually).

Pretty incredible situation that every Irish person who is engaged with the news and court reports immediately knows who the judge is
Jailed for a mere 2.5 years for grooming (what he thought was) a 9 year old girl, sending her videos of herself masturbating, telling her he wanted to take her away overnight. Making upskirting videos, collecting child sex abuse images.

Guess who the judge is. Go on, just guess.
Teacher (33) jailed for highly sexualised online conversations with girls
Dublin man Niall Ganley (33) was caught as a result of a sting operation by a UK based vigilante group
