Trans rights are human rights. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary people are nonbinary. Your gender identity is valid, and you know yourself better than anyone else.

This animation/narration is so funny and wonderful. I love how Jaiden illustrates the interiority of the asexual/aromantic experience and captures both how overwhelming and how liberating it can be.
It’s a spectrum so it depends on the person but, it’s pretty much romance. Here’s the video though!

I'm so glad that Zack Polanski is owning the spotlight & acting as a beacon for the UK left right now - because otherwise the Your Party shambles would be absolutely soul crushing, rather than just kind of funny at this point.

If you're in the UK and want just the trans, nonbinary, or LGBTQ+ ones btw, I'm doing a clearance sale with £1 postage for the old ones at canopyrobin.sumupstore.com/product/clea... (basically because I changed suppliers and don't want to mix styles on Etsy)

"As someone working in law, it’s heresy to say this, and it might even kill my chances of a career... But as a trans person, and someone fighting for the rights of my community, I refuse to remain silent. To me it just seems obvious: a heavily prejudiced society produces prejudiced institutions."
It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.

There's often a suggestion that sex-favorable ace people have an easy road. But sex-favorable asexuality is still asexuality.
Sex-favorable asexuality *is* asexuality.
Being sex-favorable isn't an "easier" form of asexuality.

Went to see the new Frankenstein in the cinema as a Halloween treat to myself. Some interesting adaptational choices, with a very effective result. Thoroughly enjoyed, highly recommend.

so wonderful when that spark of a novel idea hits you and it all clicks into place and you think THATS THE ONE. mostly because you cant force it. just have to wait and then eventually the timeline says 'here you go, heres a diamond that was floating by.' anyway, caught a diamond today. very exciting

I've been posting comics on Instagram over the last week for #AceWeek2025, and I've now compiled them into a Substack post, in case you prefer reading them that way! Something a little different for me, but I'm always interested in trying new forms of art. 💜♠️

Important #AceWeek thread here.
Hey it’s #AceWeek! 🖤🩶🤍💜

More people should realize that asexual advocacy isn’t just “people trying so hard to be oppressed becauss they’re loudly single.”

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 154:
Feed your writing daily. Feed it with fiction, non-fiction, news, games, theatre, films, art. Feed it with conversation. Feed it with experience. Feed it with curiosity. Don't expect to get anything out unless you also keep putting in.

I believe in body autonomy for all.

That means people can wear what they choose, be sexually liberated, be who they are, not be confined to restrictive social norms, have autonomy in healthcare, finances, and everything else.

And importantly, consent is a cornerstone of it all.

Though today is Ada Lovelace Day, my thoughts also turn to another incredible woman and scientist.

Her name is Lynn Conway - a trans woman who first designed the microchip allowing me to find Trans+ community online, and from there, do the work I do as a journalist.

Some idle thoughts about the way our identities (and being honest about them) can queer even the simplest of social interactions.

This one's been languishing in the drafts for a while (you can probably tell how long by that screenshot). Finally decided to post it in advance of #AceWeek2025.
