Some idle thoughts about the way our identities (and being honest about them) can queer even the simplest of social interactions.

This one's been languishing in the drafts for a while (you can probably tell how long by that screenshot). Finally decided to post it in advance of #AceWeek2025.

Who knew a film from the 1950s would have so much (wrong) to say about asexuality?

When I finally sat down to watch Some Like It Hot for the first time, I was aware of the trans reading. What I was not expecting was for asexuality (or a misunderstanding of it) to be a major element of the story.

It's 1st June, so Happy Pride Month! Remember to take some time for yourself this month and experience queer joy ‐ but if you're going to a parade, it's time to protest, too. There are so many attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community at the moment, and we need to stand together with our voices raised loud.

Didn't think it would take me a whole month, but here we are - my first proper post on Substack!

#Dungeons&Dragons might have a reputation for horny bards and seducing monsters, but there's room for asexuality in TTRPGs too.

Trans rights are human rights. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary people are nonbinary. Your gender identity is valid, and you know yourself better than anyone else.
